Kizhi Porotta-Beef

Kizhi Porotta–Beef is a beloved Kerala specialty that brings together flavour, texture, and tradition in one irresistible bundle. Flaky, multi-layered Malabar porotta is filled with tender beef slow-cooked in a rich, spicy masala featuring onions, tomatoes, green chillies, ginger, garlic, fennel, garam masala, and fragrant curry leaves.

Once packed with the flavourful beef roast, the porotta is wrapped securely in banana leaves—forming a kizhi (parcel)—and gently steamed. This slow cooking infuses the dish with a subtle earthy aroma, while keeping the meat succulent and the porotta incredibly soft.
